22: Analysis of the artist's work- Susan Dergers

1⃣:Susan's work mostly explores natural symbols, traces, and unique patterns in nature under the constant dynamic passage of time. Her work is not photographed with a camera, but scientifically, through an aluminium box with reflective paper, using moonlight and a torch to expose the objects in the river, the flowing water and the ever-changing light that makes each piece unique.

2⃣:I particularly like three of her projects, New river taw editions, soul of the underground and River and shore. All three projects utilise flowing water as the main element and the ripples are captured in a state of motion in a unique freeze frame that gives a sense of the passing of time.

3⃣:There is one element that inspires me in these works: the ripples, the circles of ripples, the horizontal and curved forms of the ripples of the water can be used to express the links of relationships. I will try to experiment with the element of ripples.
